Toledo is a city and municipality of Spain, capital of the homonymous
province, and of the autonomous community Castilla La Mancha. Toledo
located centrally in the country, at a distance of 70 km from Madrid and
on the right bank of the River Tagus. Since 1986, included in the list
of world cultural heritage monuments of UNESCO, Toledo was from
1085-1559 the capital of the Spanish empire. The town was a religious
and cultural center, comprising an entire town of museums, history and
architecture.
In its attractions is the Gothic cathedral at the entrance of the town
with art works made by Goya and El Greco .The famous fortress of Alcazar,
a square building with towers on each corner on the hill that dominates
the city. Previously this fortress was the palace of the Kings of
Castile.
