Barcelona, ancient and modern city founded in the second

From Placa de Catalunya you can visit the Roman ruins , the medieval
city and the modern city. The old city areas are mostly flat, the modern
city areas are on the slopes at the top of Barcelona.
In the Gothic Quarter there are numerous beautiful architectural remains
of the medieval kings and , the Cathedral of St. Eulalia, the royal
court ,Playa del Rei, the Frederic-Mare Museum and the City Hall . The
most well-known street of Barcelona is La Rambla a broad avenue, from
the centre of the city until the port.
One of the most famous attractions of Barcelona are the art nouveau
buildings designed from the famous architect Antoni Gaudy among them
worth seeing are the Palau Guell, Le Pedrera, Casa Vicens and the church
of the Sacred Family.
The Montjuic hill located in the southwest of the city and overlooks the
harbour. On that hill there is a fortress from the 17th And 18 Century.
Today the fortress hosts a military museum and in the area there are
several Olympic and cultural institutions, as well as some very
beautiful gardens.
